FAQs

What should the client know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is competitive and transparent. There are no hidden fees, and I often offer discounts for repeat customers or larger volumes of documents. The number of signers, witnesses, sigatures/seals required for the notary, and travel, are just a few examples of what will alter the price of the notarization. Every notarization is different, which is why I can't give you a set price without seeing the document.

What types of documents do you notarize?

I notarize a wide range of documents, including but not limited to:

  • Real estate deeds and mortgage documents
  • Trusts, wills, and powers of attorney
  • Medical directives or living wills
  • Contracts and agreements
  • Affidavits and sworn statements
  • Permission slips for minors to travel
  • Vehicle title transfers
  • Adoption papers
  • Commercial leases
  • Loan documents
  • Business documents, like incorporation papers
  • And many more!

If you have a specific document in question or are unsure whether it can be notarized, please reach out, and I'd be happy to assist.

Is online notarization legal and how does it work?

Is it legal? Yes, online notarization, often referred to as remote online notarization (RON), is legal in all 50 states, including those which have not yet legalized online notary services. It allows notaries to perform notarial acts electronically, ensuring convenience without compromising on the legal sanctity of the document.

How does it work? Online notarization involves a few key steps:

  1. Document Upload: The signer uploads the document to a secure online platform.

  2. Identity Verification: Before the notarization begins, the signer must verify their identity. This is typically done using multi-factor authentication, which may include answering knowledge-based questions, showing a government-issued ID via webcam, or other verification methods.

  3. Video Conference: Once identity is confirmed, the signer and the notary will connect via a live video call. During this call, the notary will witness the signer electronically sign the document.

  4. Notarization: After witnessing the signature, the notary will then apply their electronic notary seal and signature to the document.

  5. Document Access: Once notarized, the document is securely stored, and both the notary and signer will have access to the finalized, notarized document.

It's essential to ensure that both the notary and the signer have a stable internet connection and a device equipped with a camera and microphone for a successful online notarization.
